# Get Card

> Retrieve a single card by reference (masked).

Returns a single card by its reference, masked. `balance` is the amount currently available to spend on the card.

> Card endpoints use the same base URL and API key as the rest of the API, and are signature-gated:
> send `X-Numero-Signature` and `X-Numero-Signature-Version: v2` as well. See [Request signing](/03-request-signing).

## Card statuses

| Status       | Description                      |
| ------------ | -------------------------------- |
| `Pending`    | Created, not yet active          |
| `Active`     | Usable                           |
| `Frozen`     | Temporarily blocked (reversible) |
| `Terminated` | Permanently closed               |
